| Other relevant information | There are no plans for a permanent station on Bjornoya, but an anchored gauge was operated for a year at the southern end of the island. A gauge was to be deployed in summer 1993, at the northern end of the island, for about a year. A large phase and amplitude difference exists between the south and north ends. There is no connection between the benchmarks of the two stations except the trignometric network & a single GPS-vector. Stations karverk has made plans for establishing a new gauge and equipping it with GPS. Because of lack of funds this plan has not yet been put into action. |
